Recently, I watched a video of a foreign business magazine editor discussing how many people enroll in courses like "Create a New Career for Yourself" or "Build a Profitable Business on Your Own." They follow the formulas and strategies taught by coaches in these courses or videos, only to end up facing failure and becoming disheartened.
An important point the editor made, which I find thought-provoking, is about the questions many forget to ask when enrolling in these courses. While these courses teach various skills like content writing, ad running, or starting an online store, these may not be sufficient for a business to survive or succeed.
The crucial question we forget to ask is: "What else do we need?"
If you ask real business people or those deeply knowledgeable in business and marketing, they'll often say that these courses only cover "a part" of the bigger picture. Success in business comes from multiple components working together, not just one aspect. The success stories we hear, where a few marketing moves led to big wins, are often because those individuals already had some advantages, like an existing good product or an already demanding market. This contrasts with others who may not realize they are lacking these elements.
Therefore, asking "What else do we need?" is crucial, whether to the instructors or to ourselves. This ensures we don't become complacent, thinking we know enough or are fully prepared, as we might be missing several key elements that need to come together perfectly.
